Open Garden
For those of you who need some help to get the garden looking its best – check out the Garden Design section.
On Halloween weekend we opened our garden, ‘Krackatinni’, to
the public as part of Australia’s Open Garden Scheme, we wish to thank all our
supporters:- our family, friends, neighbours, ASCA volunteers, our
local press, the radio stations that helped promote the event- Simon Marnie at
702 ABC, Don Burke on 2UE and Graham Ross on 2GB.
We are grateful to those businesses that donated
prizes for the raffle – Glenmore Nursery, Supa Poo Fertiliser/Mulch, Blackfrog
Solar Lights and Springrove Wholesale Nursery.
Angela and Gina from Coco & Bean supplied and sold
the world’s best cakes!
We also want to thank all our visitors to the
garden, we had just over 150 people (plus lots of kids) visit the garden and
altogether raised over $800 for our nominated charity, Adults Surviving Child
Abuse (ASCA).
We had a great time over the weekend, and were
especially impressed with the adults who came dressed in Halloween garb! Our younger helpers also got onto the spirit of things.
The garden was looking it’s best ever and so many
people said it was “inspiring” and “peaceful” – “just what they needed”.
Sharing what is possible to create in a small suburban garden is rewarding for
us and we are glad others enjoyed it as well.
Thanks again for your support,
Karel Vine and Anne-Louise Dampney
